TheFilmSchool’s mission is to elevate the art of cinematic storytelling through intensive training in screenwriting and directing.



TheFilmSchool Prodigy Camp for talented teens
The film camp is a place for the world's top promising teen filmmakers to develop every aspect of their craft. In one intensive week, they will be taught the secrets to make a great film: screenwriting, directing and cinematography, and they will apply that knowledge, shooting and editing their own scene.


3-Week Intensive Program
The 3-Week Intensive is TheFilmSchool’s cornerstone program, teaching the principles and mechanisms of structure and character, as well as the fundamentals of storytelling, through six distinct courses.


Seattle International Film Festival

Throughout its 35 years, SIFF has evolved into one of the leading independent and international film institutions in the United States and the world. With extensive local, national, and international media coverage, the Festival is one of Seattle’s most accessible and highly–publicized cultural events.

National Film Festival for Talented Youth
NFFTY is the largest and most influential film festival for young filmmakers (age 22 and under). NFFTY occurs each spring in Seattle, Washington and includes 100+ film screenings, filmmaking panels, concerts by youth bands, and opportunities for young filmmakers to network with industry professionals and each other.


Seattle University Film Studies
Seattle University offers the only four-year degree in film in Seattle.  Film Studies is an independent B.A. degree program within the English Department.


Northwest Film Forum
Northwest Film Forum is Seattle's premier film arts organization, screening over 200 independently made and classic films annually, offering a year-round schedule of filmmaking classes for all ages, and supporting filmmakers at all stages of their careers.
